These stimuli are usually not harmful to health but can become if the stimulus is frequent.

We call the stress-  triggering stimuli in the body stressors, and each being may have different levels of resistance and vulnerability to these agents.

Genetic factors may be the reason why some individuals have greater resistance to stressors, therefore they have a lower risk of developing physical and psychological diseases.

Even though it is not officially considered a disease, Stress  is a state in which the individual, when undergoing many situations that require a lot of body and mind, presents various body and emotional changes.

When going through stressful situations, the body  releases hormones that lead to the acceleration of the heartbeat, the breathing rhythm, as well as sweating and muscle tension. This is a natural body defensive reaction that prepares for unexpected situations, but can cause damage when this defensive state becomes permanent.

What is Stress?

The stress  is a response body  (physical or mental) to an extreme effort or important event, usually when they feel threatened or under pressure. This response releases a series of chemical reactions in your body , which causes physiological reactions.

The body  undergoes various types of changes during our daily lives; This happens whenever the brain perceives some activity as threatening or causing pressure, called the General Adaptation Syndrome.

These changes in organisms can be very positive, for example: if someone is experiencing periods of pressure at work, the brain  perceives and responds with changes that will help the individual to complete their activities efficiently.

However, if the pressure persists for a long time, the beneficial changes become detrimental, manifesting in the body in pathological ways and with symptoms such as headaches and stomach aches .

Causes of Stress:

A person may experience stress  at some important moments in their life, possibly motivated by anxiety, apprehension and worry, such as:

  • Start in a new job or new school;
  • Moving to a new home;
  • Get married;
  • Have a child;
  • Break up a relationship.

An illness, whether with you or with a friend or loved one, is a common cause of stress . Feelings of stress  and anxiety are common in people who feel depressed and sad as well.

Some medicines may cause or worsen Stress Symptoms . These may include:

  • Some inhaled medicines used to treat asthma.
  • Thyroid medications .
  • Some diet pills.
  • Some cold remedies.

Caffeine, cocaine, alcohol, and tobacco products can also cause or worsen symptoms.

The stress  does not cause serious problems, but the trigger because it reduces the immune system of the body , and as the vulnerability of the person, there may be symptoms and diseases such as:

Stress Treatments:

Knowing that stress  is an impaired health condition, it should be treated as soon as possible to avoid the consequences. Treatment of Stress  involves psychotherapy and in some cases the administration of psychotropic drugs.

Psychotherapy contributes to gradual relaxation and breathing techniques, as well as the alleviation of symptoms, the elaboration of emotions, the understanding of the circumstance in which the patient is inserted, the treatment of other correlated disorders, such as depression and anxiety.

The use of medications consists of administering antidepressants, anxiolytics, relaxants or hormone replenishers. In addition, in cases with comorbidities, they should also be treated appropriately. Finally, not all cases are recommended for such drugs.
